Ron Brown

 

Ronald Lee Brown, 82, of Ottumwa, died at 2:45 a.m. April 30, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.

He was born November 30, 1940 in Ottumwa to William Floyd and Clela Clark Brown.

Ronald was a 1959 graduate of Ottumwa High School. He was a truck driver for 20 years and worked in the maintenance department at the Mahaska County Courthouse for 22 years.

He had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Ronald enjoyed riding motorcycles and in his younger years he enjoyed racing them. He also enjoyed mowing and construction.

Surviving are his children, Kevin Brown of Ottumwa, Tina Kastendiek of Fort Dodge, Clela Annette Johnson of Ottumwa, Todd Julius of San Antonio, TX and Jeana Brown Benson of Fort Dodge; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and his sister, Marilyn Rapp of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Emmitt and Ernie Brown and brother-in-law, Clyde Rapp.

His body has been cremated.

Memorial graveside services and inurnment will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4th, at Shaul Cemetery.
